Role Purpose: The role of Production Controller is to raise Purchase Orders, monitor bulk fabric approvals, manage the CP for both bulk and salesman sample orders with the aim to achieve at least 90% handover on time. Impact: Bulk Orders: 61 Establish good relationships with supplier merchandisers and the UK buying team. 61 Consult with the Production Manager regarding factory allocation following buy meetings, using the Dynamics system for product setup and price information checks. 61 Create and maintain factory loading documents, ensuring suppliers are not over capacity. 61 Manage and update the critical path regularly, aiming for 90% on-time deliveries (AQL on time). 61 Hold weekly team meetings with the UK merch team and QC team to discuss the critical path and any issues, making relevant suggestions on how to resolve. 61 Communicate delivery delays to the Production Manager and update relevant systems. 61 Maintain and review on-time delivery records monthly. 61 Understand the PD process in relation to the Critical Path and order process, including fit process, testing requirements, auditing measures, and legislation. 61 Be aware of actions taken by PD that may impact costs during bulk production and quality requirements. 61 Update PO data from buy minutes (projected) and after each buy (confirmed) on the greige log. 61 Liaise continuously with the UK Production, Imports, and Planning teams. Pricing: 61 Participate in seasonal Buy Sum handover from the Buying team, understanding confirmed prices. 61 Keep Buying Programmes (BP’s) up to date with any in-season price changes. 61 Own in-season changes on FOB price under the guidance of the Production Manager once bulk orders are placed. 61 Negotiate in-season price changes with suppliers to ensure margin impact is reduced, if requested.Buying Trip Preparation: 61 Accompany UK colleagues on buy/QC trips when visiting Chinese suppliers, if necessary. 61 Assist with trip arrangements, including itinerary completion, hotel bookings, visa applications, and meeting arrangements. 61 Update the ‘points of discussion’ document accordingly. 61 Create the ‘gold silver bronze’ scoring sheet with all relevant areas completed. 61 Generate and contribute to the supplier delivery performance document. Sourcing: 61 Sourcing enquiries conducted when needed Required Language Skills: 61 English: Proficient in both written and spoken English to effectively communicate with the UK-based team and international suppliers. 61 Mandarin: Proficient in both written and spoken Mandarin to liaise with local suppliers and manufacturers in China. 61 Additional Languages: Knowledge of other languages is a plus but not essential. Performance Indicators: 61 Adherence to corporate calendar deadlines 61 Excellent communication skills. 61 Achieving 90% on-time deliveries for SMS and bulk orders.
